SkinLabo cares. It cares for the people, it cares for the planet.

5 years ago we started our adventure with a dream in mind: making High Quality Cosmetics affordable to everyone as it is our belief that Skincare is a right for everyone. We began our journey challenging ourselves with a question:are we aware of the real cost of High Quality Cosmetics?

Over a million customers (thank you!) have decided to Just be Smart, trusting the high quality of our products at a price that is not just right but fair.

Today we want to challenge ourselves and you, our community, with another question: what is the real cost of High Quality Cosmetics not just for our pockets, but for our planet?

Can a price be truly fair if it does not take into account the cost to the planet? No.

This is why we feel the responsibility as a brand to contain the impact of our products and be transparent about it.

We want, as customers ourselves, to be able to make informed decisions that we feel good about. For this reason, transparency is at the very top of our agenda: to become more conscious of the impact of what we buy is the first concrete step we can take, as consumers, towards a more sustainable future.

Who said sustainability means compromising on efficacy or price?

Our promise as a brand for the years to come is to become more and more responsible about the impact we have on the planet and people. We promise to pursue this commitment while continuing offering products of real value at a fair price.


BUT WHAT OBSTACLES STAND IN THE WAY OF TRULY SUSTAINABLE COSMETICS? 

The ugly truth is that even though we are making the most out of the existing solutions, but for even more pressing problems there are still no alternatives available.  

We are furthermore aware that any business based on consumption cannot be truly and fully sustainable, but that won’t stop us from being committed to a constant challenge of the status quo and from sharing this journey with you with the utmost transparency.

HOW DO WE DEAL WITH THIS PROBLEM? 

We don't really have time for any greenwashing! That's why we are focusing on areas where we are confident we are able to provide a differential and measurable impact, as well as on topics that are truly viewed as critical by our customers, team and community.

Our promise as a brand is to bring visible results, why should it be any different with sustainability?

An extensive survey, as well as gathering all concerns by listening to our community and team have led us to prioritize our agenda for the next two years as follows:

PLANET: REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT:

  • SkinLabo is the first Italian brand of cosmetics to be Plastic Neutral, we fund the recovery from the environment of the same amount of plastic that we produce. This is the first concrete step towards a clear and measurable commitment to a sustainable future.
  • Optimization of packaging reducing the use of virgin plastic, increasing the use of recycled materials and allowing for full recyclability of the packaging.
  • Offset carbon footprint related to shipments: being an e-commerce makes us accountable for relevant carbon pollution related to deliveries. For this reason we will offset the overall footprint at the end of the year.
  • Design of new products will allow for a decreased environmental impact throughout the entire life cycle.
  • Supporting suppliers in the sustainability transition. 

PEOPLE: IMPROVE OUR POSITIVE SOCIAL IMPACT:

  • Boost transparency for our customers to be able to make informed choices (clarity about formulation, ingredients purpose and origin, honesty about environmental impact of the brand).
  • Support Inclusivity and Diversity both within our walls, in our product range, and in the representation of the brand on our channels.
  • Keep engaged in a “sharing success mindset” by giving back through our philanthropic initiatives and smart charity projects.
  • Ensure Data Privacy and Data Security for our customers.

WHAT DOES IT MEAN TO BE SMART IN 2022? 

Acting consciously. We really hope to be able to give you evidence of more and more satisfying results, having taken increasingly responsible actions toward the planet.
